Revised Lineup, New Design
The 2027 Sierra will have six trims to choose from: the jobsite-oriented Pro, the mid-grade Elevation, the adventure-driven AT4, the upscale Denali, the trail-ready AT4X, and the plush Denali Ultimate. They’ll all show off a new exterior design marked by a more powerful stance and a boxier front end. The revised grille will be framed by new signature LED headlights that reinterpret the Sierra’s classic horizontal upper and vertical lower light structure. Both the headlights and taillights will be eligible for GMC’s optional welcome and farewell lighting animation; quad exhaust outlets will be available on select trims. The 2027 Sierra’s cabin will boast class-leading standard Crew Cab head and legroom, and higher trims will incorporate real or forged wood accents, a panoramic sunroof, and a reconfigurable MultiPro center console that opens to create a flat workspace between the front seats.
As mentioned, the Sierra’s top two trims will return with major upgrades tailored to their distinct specialties: premium comfort and off-road toughness. At the top of the lineup, the Denali Ultimate will come standard with the aforementioned 6.6-liter V8, but interior screen space is where it will distinguish itself, far exceeding that of its predecessor. The standard 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster will be joined by a 16.3-inch infotainment display (nearly three inches larger than the current touchscreen) and an 11.5-inch front passenger screen, creating a full-width dashboard display. The center screen will articulate to reveal hidden storage, and the passenger display will have a partial cover that hides the lower half of the screen for a slimmer profile. Both are expected to be the largest of their kind in the segment, adding to the Sierra’s list of “best-in-class” attributes. A 15-inch head-up display and an 8.5-inch digital rearview mirror will bring the Denali Ultimate’s total screen space to over 60 inches.
Positioned just below the Denali Ultimate, the AT4X, a dedicated off-roader, will gain new Multimatic jounce control dampers and 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires – both Sierra firsts – along with a 2-inch suspension lift, class-exclusive front- and rear-e-locking differentials, and a new hood design to complement its muscular styling. The redesigned cabin will be outfitted with a host of new amenities: a Timber Mahogany interior, a new standard panoramic sunroof, a new flat-bottomed performance steering wheel, and updated front seats with enhanced bolstering and quilted upholstery for a touch of refinement in the dust. The AEV Edition Package – which enhances the current AT4X with Boron steel skid plates, a stamped steel winch-compatible front bumper, a stamped steel rear bumper with heavy-duty cast recovery points, rocker protection, upgraded wheels, and AEV badging throughout – will be offered on the new model.
